New Idea For Chiller

I am trying something new this year to try and help my chiller to be used LESS!  I have located my tank up against a wall that is on the outside of the building (near the windows).  It is my belief that this wall can help to keep the tank cool as this wall gets cold from now (October) through April.  I am well aware that sunlight is detrimental to the eggs and young trout and I have accounted for that by shading the tank.  I will keep everyone informed as to the progress (how often chiller is running this year compared to year’s past).  Maybe this is a possible solution for us to give our chiller’s a much needed break and therefore more life….and save some electricity by passive cooling.

It is hard to tell how the chiller near the exterior wall worked.  It definitely was not worse than previous years.  The only thing is, I had in on a countertop, so it was louder than usual.  I really dislike the extra noise the unit makes, so any recommendations for keeping it quiet are much appreciated…...

THANKS!
