NJ Trout in the Classroom Wins National Award

Brian Cowden wins national Youth Education Leadership award in Boise, ID

New Jersey’s own state council vice chair and Trout in the Classroom state coordinator won the first annual Youth Education Leadership award for his work with Trout in the Classroom. The award was presented at the annual meeting held in Boise, Idaho on September 14th, 2007. TIC has grown from one program in the Sparta Middle School to nearly 25 last school year and over 55 for the 2007-’08 school year under Cowden’s leadership. This was an exciting recognition of all the hard work put in by our teachers and TU chapter volunteers as well as by our coordinator, and has placed New Jersey in the forefront of the TIC program nationwide.
