For future reference, how long can the fish go without being fed? I am worried about the winter break being such a long one. Does any expert out there think the fish can make it for 2, 3 or 4 days without food??? Thanks!

We have around 25% of our total eggs hatched and the two-headed egg is one of them. Look closely at the picture to see the two-heads (four eyes, no pun intended) and only one body. He squiggles around just like the other alevin. We will keep you posted on this little critters progress. Must be a Halloween surprise!!!

We had our first egg hatch on Thursday October 19th and a total of 6 as of today. Our water temperature has been a consistent 51 degrees. One of our eggs definitely contains two heads. That should be fun to monitor. Since the arrival (10/12), we have had 137 dead or infertile eggs. More to come…
